Succesful Completion of the Course

 

For the successful completion of the ‘’Advanced Course in Clinical Embryology’’ participants should:

1.  Attend and successfully complete the educational goals of each Teaching Module
2. Pass two online written exam sessions
3. Pass a Critical Analysis Skills Assessment following the completion of the 10th Teaching Module
4. Have no financial obligation on Tuition Fees which should be paid in full.

#Attend and successfully complete each Teaching Module

Participants should attend all teaching hours for each Module. This can be done synchronously and/or asynchronously at their own time on e-class. Having ascertained as instructors high-impact researchers and global leaders in the field of clinical embryology, this course aims to promote high-levels of online live synchronous attendance of the participants. One of the acknowledged strengths of the Advanced Course in Clinical Embryology is the interaction between participants and speakers, therefore synchronous attendance although not required, it is strongly encouraged and appreciated.
Attendance record keeping will take place during synchronous teaching and will further be enabled through documentation of the recorded attendance hours on the online learning platform (e-class) during the asynchronous engagement with educational material.

For the successful completion of each Teaching Module participants should either:

1.
Attend synchronously (online live attendance) at least 50% of the total teaching hours.

Or

2.
Pass an exam in the format of 25 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on the module for which their synchronous attendance is less than 50% of the total teaching hours. The course offers the option of re-sitting all exam sessions, enabling a re-examination policy.


#Exams

To Successfully complete the ‘’Advanced Course in Clinical Embryology’’ participants should complete two online written exams in the format of multiple-choice questions.
The first exam will take place upon completion of the 5th Teaching Module, and the second exam upon completion of the 11th Teaching Module.

  • Each online exam session will include 50 MCQs with a total duration of 70’ minutes and will be conducted on e-class at the participants’ own time. The examination platform will be open for five days.
  • The score ranges from 0 to 100%. Each question is represented equally in the marking scheme.
  • To successfully complete and pass the exam session participants should score ≥ 50%.
  • All exam questions are based on the presentations and ascertain basic understanding of what was taught.
  • The course offers the option of re-sitting all exam sessions, enabling a re-examination policy.


#Critical Analysis Skills Assessment

Following the completion of the 10th Teaching Module participants should answer a series of three open-ended questions using the e-class platform. The content of the questions will be defined by the Scientific Examination Committee of the Course ascertaining that participants are able to critically analyze significant topics of the field of Clinical Embryology.

The Critical Analysis Skills Assessment platform will open on August 1st, 2023.
•  
  Deadline for completing the Critical Analysis Skills Assessment will be on August 31st, 2023, and participants can log in and out at their own pace and time.
•   
The answer for each question should be no less than 500 words and no more than 700 words, excluding references in the word count.
•  
  Marking scheme: pass mark 50%; merit 60-79%; distinction ≥ 80%.
•  
  By the end of September all participants will receive an evaluation report from the Scientific Examination Committee

#Certificate

  • Successful completion of the Course leads to the award of a “Certificate of Continuing Vocational Education in Advanced Clinical Embryology”. The Certificate is awarded by the Medical School and the Center of Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in digital format.
  • A Europass Certificate will also be awarded.
  • Upon request, each participant may receive a complimentary report by the Scientific Committee of the ‘’Advanced Course in Clinical Embryology’’. This report will provide a detailed analysis of the participant’s performance both for the exams and the Critical Analysis Skills Assessment. The overall grade corresponding to the overall performance of the participant is provided according to the following scheme: The total exam grade will account for 80%, and the Critical Analysis Skills Assessment will account for the remaining 20% of the total grade as defined according to the program’s structure. The overall grading is defined as follows: pass 50%; merit 60-79%; distinction ≥ 80%. The complimentary report may be provided upon request for the participants’ personal use and feedback, to serve as a self-evaluation tool. Grades are not reported on the Diploma
